Fun few days out of town!!!

We have been enjoying a few days of vacation in New Orleans. Yesterday we went to the Zoo and the Children's museum. The kids have been swimming and I have been eating way too much!! My parents had a meeting for a few days so we took advantage of them(HA HA not really) But, it has been fun. Today we are going for beignets, a little French Market shopping and then will be home.

All the while, daddy has been home painting our bedroom. When our painters painted our house they used more water than they did paint. I'm really anxious to see what the "real" color will look like. He said it looks good and is a good bit darker. All I can say is, now I need new bedside table lamps and maybe a floor lamp???

Have a great weekend!!!

Fun weekend!!

We spent a fun weekend just hanging out with family. We swam all weekend and then cooked yesterday with family. For the first time in almost 9 months we wake up and find ourselves with nowhere to go!! I plan on spending some time in my house today.

how do you spend your 1st day of summer vacation??

Well, I had major plans to get a lot done today while the kids were vegging infront of the TV. Not happening, this momma got the stomach bug that's been floating around my house for over a week. So 11-2 last night really really bad!!! I won't go into details HA HA. Now I'm laying in bed thinking about all of the things I need to do. Thank goodness for my momma and daddy. The kids are over there today!! I'm going back to bed.

Have a great kickoff to summer!!!

Headed to K-5

Well, we had our end of the year conference today with the boy's teacher and I'm proud to announce that they are ready for K-5. Earlier in the year they were a little behind on a few things, but she reviewed them last week and they knew all of their letters, their writing is terrific!! She gave us a bunch of their artwork from the year and the difference from the beginning of the year until now is remarkable. At the beginning it was mostly scribble scrabble(their words) and now there are distinct pictures of people and houses and other things. I AM SO PROUD OF THEM!!! They are ready for next year, but let's have some summer first!!!

We had a great weekend. We spent most of our time at the ballpark. The kids all played really well and got really dirty. Coach daddy tells them to get dirty so their moms have to wash their uniforms. I think he should have to "shout" all the red dirt out of those gray pants!!!

Anyway we finished the day yesterday with dinner at our house. We enjoyed a nice Sunday evening with family and good food.

I got a beautiful necklace from my babies with all of their initials and birthstones. It was perfect!!

My new hobby

Now, you're going to think I'm crazy, but my new favorite hobby is running. I thought I would never like it...ever!! But, Robby kept telling me try it. Now, i'm no marathon runner and I don't run very fast but it has really made me feel better. I started back to exercising regularly a couple of months ago. Now, the scale hasn't gone anywhere, but i'm still trying.

But, I was really struggling to make it for long distances when I run or walk because I was just getting bored. So I downloaded some new praise and worship music and it really made the difference. Just when I'm getting tired the right song will come on and I tell myself just to make it through that song and then another and so on...Now, why am I telling you all this, I think I am going to focus my energy more on running/walking to be by myself and as a time of reflection. Maybe my focus has been to much on losing weight. After a while their is not much motivation there anymore especially when the results are really really slow!!!
It has been a busy week. Ballgames, KinderTots end of year celebration, tumble-cheer, ballet dress rehearsal.

This weekend...three ballgames and of course MOTHER'S DAY. I'm so impressed with my husband because he took my 3 children to a local gift store and purchased a gift for me. Although, 3 little birdies told me that they wanted certain things and their daddy chose something else. So we will see what they give me. Whatever it is I will be proud. I did get an early present last night. Robby bought me a Peter's Pottery Utensil holder for the kitchen. I'm slowly collecting Peters or McCarty and so I always get excited when I get a new piece. THANK YOU!!!

I'm looking forward to the weekend and some beautiful weather. I'm sure our 11:45 ballgame will be HOT tomorrow.

Looking ahead...next week is our last full week of school. The boys have a big water day on Friday and are excited about that. It's time for school to be out!!!

Have a great weekend.

As if we didn't have enough going on...MT has been running fever since Saturday night. Fast forward to Monday night..we were all set to go to school on Tuesday and the dreaded earache hit. Well, from 11:30-4:00 we cried, and cried, and cried..(Robby and I too). The drops weren't working, the Tylenol wouldn't do it,finaly she fell asleep. And was angelic when she woke up this morning. Well, we went to the Dr. anyway and she had a ruptured ear drum. I felt like somebody had punched me in the stomach. He said not too worry that it wasn't abnormal but still, in 4 1/2 years of life, tubes and tons of ear infections, this has never happened. Anyway she is on antibiotics in ears and by mouth. And hopefully will go back to school tomorrow or Thursday.

I think somebody thought we just didn't have enough to do.. or maybe it's the holy spirit gently reminding me to slow down!!

Have a great day!

As you look at these pictures, you'll notice that all of my children ended up on purple teams. Now, for a girl that's awesome but for boys not so great. When we gave the uniforms out the boys looked at their daddy and said "iS everybody wearing purple?? They just weren't sure if this was boy enough!!!

Our Boys playing ball!!
